What do they do?
They are pensioners who have a penchant for traveling around this island we call earth on a bicycle.
Where did we meet them?
When we arrived at Dambri Falls outside of Bao Loc we were told to park our bikes in the parking area for motorbikes. At the entrance we saw a tandem bike. We were curious to meet them so Kat left them a note on the bike in case we missed them while going down to the falls.
They have been traveling around the world on bike for the past 30 over years. They had been cycling in the Andes, parts of Africa and many times in Asia. They gave us lots of friendly advice with this being our first tour and all. Bert told us not to rush our rides and not try to see it all. Remarkably we tried this the very next day and started enjoying our rides much better. And he also told us to watch our knees by not putting too much stress on them. Really good and practical advice from 2 really experienced cyclist. I can only hope that me and Kat will be doing cycle touring with our kids and grandkids when we are 60!
