Still sick....no change there. We didn't go to the school today as we needed to finalise the water tank stuff. Lesh went out mega early to meet up with Win Cho to look at other options for getting the tank cheaper. Turns out that the tank was not cheaper even with a local haggling but the delivery charge seemed reasonable. As Lesh was coming back from the shopping trip the heavens opened and a huge rain storm arrived. It rained for hours and Lesh got toally drenched poor thing. It meant that we were holed up in the flat for most of the first part of the day.
In the afternoon we went to the internet café to try and research how to make a money transfer from Malaysia to Burma . I didn't have much luck as most of the sites were blocked when I tried to click on them. One site did say there was a maybank somewhere in the city and gave a phone number...but when I tried to call it there was no reply.
We went again to Ciao's restaurant which we had tried to go to last night but the s hutters were still down and so the owners "problem head" must be still bad if the restaurant is closed for 2 consecutive days. I didn't feel like I could stomach anything else - especially not the pork rice that Lesh ate. So on the way back to the flat we called off at the supermarket and got some supplies that I thought I could manage. Since the supermarket was full of terrible frozen food...the only thing I thought suitable was maggi mee. So we bought a few packets and some eggs. Back in the flat it took 2 hou r s to make a stupid bowl of maggi mee as the electric stove was playing up. I kept insisting that I really was not that fussed on even eating maggi mee but Lesh had started and he was determined to finish the task...even if it meant electrocuting himself in the process. I kept having to remind him to put on some flip flops as the dodgy plug kept giving off blue sparks and frightening me. In the end we realised that the same said plug had melted our expensive international adapter and so Lesh had to go out and buy a new cheapo one from the shop round the corner. We taped the plug and the adapter together as the plug was too heavy for the adapter....we taped the adapter to the wall...and still the electricity was not flowng right. In the end I wore the flip flops and I held the plug in place while the maggi cooked. Of course by now I was in no mood for the stupid maggi but Lesh had gone to so much effort and I hadn't eaten all day...so I thought I'd better make an effort too .
